What exactly is in the Personalized Sleep Plan, and what does it cost?
A written plan, usually fifteen to twenty pages, built from your questionnaire: what is normal at your baby's age, a safe-sleep check of your set-up, a bedtime routine, a day-and-nap rhythm, the settling approach you chose (or the gentlest one that fits), a night-by-night guide for the first two weeks, a section on your own sleep, and a "when to call your pediatrician" card. It is written for your baby, your home and your limits — not a template with a name pasted in. The plan on its own is $50; the Plan + Coach bundle is $100 and includes your first month of the AI Sleep Coach.
How is the plan made? Is it written by AI?
Your answers are turned into a first draft by our AI plan writer, which works from a research library we compiled — several hundred published sources on infant sleep, safe sleep and what the evidence does and doesn't support. Then a human reads it before it is sent to you, checks it against your answers, and edits anything that needs it. You will normally have it within one business day.
Will you make me do cry-it-out?
No. The questionnaire asks how you feel about crying and what you are not willing to do, and the plan is built around those answers. Many families choose a no-crying approach. For babies under six months there is no sleep training of any kind — only foundations — because those methods have never been tested that young.
Is this medical advice?
No. Lamplight provides parenting education — routines, environment, comfort techniques and expectation-setting — and homemaking support for tired families. We are not medical providers, we do not diagnose or treat anything, and we will always send you to your pediatrician when something needs one. Your plan includes a clear list of the things that should go to a doctor rather than to us.
What is the AI Sleep Coach, really?
A chat-based coach, available any hour, that has read your questionnaire and your plan. It is built on a large language model from Anthropic (Claude), with a long set of instructions written by us: the research it may draw on, the safe-sleep rules it must never soften, the questions it must route to a pediatrician, and the tone it should take with a parent at 3am. It is not a person and it is not a doctor. It is very good at steady, specific, research-grounded encouragement when you need it.
What does the coach cost, and can I cancel?
The coach is $50 a month. If you buy the Plan + Coach bundle ($100), your first month is included; after that it continues at $50 a month until you cancel. Cancelling takes one click from your account page — no calls, no forms — and you keep access until the end of the period you have paid for.
Can I get the coach without the plan?
Yes. You can subscribe to the coach on its own for $50 a month. It will ask you a few questions about your baby first, since it won't have a questionnaire to work from.
Can I text or email the coach instead of using the website?
Yes. From your account page you can verify a mobile number for text messages and confirm the email address you want to write from. After that, a text or an email to the coach gets a reply the same way the website chat does — same coach, same memory of your family. Message and data rates may apply for texts; reply STOP at any time to turn texts off. Text and email replies are for sleep questions only and are never the right channel for an emergency — call 911.
What ages do you work with?
Birth to about 24 months. For babies born early we use the due date rather than the birth date for every expectation in the plan.
Do you follow safe-sleep guidelines?
Yes, without exception: the American Academy of Pediatrics safe-sleep recommendations are built into every plan and every coach conversation — on the back for every sleep, a firm flat surface with nothing else in it, in your room on their own surface for at least the first six months, no weighted sleep products, no sleep in swings or car seats at home. We will never soften those to make a plan more convenient.
We co-sleep. Will you judge us?
No. We will tell you plainly what the guidance says and why, screen for the specific things that multiply risk, and help you toward a separate sleep surface at your pace. Families who tell us the truth get better plans.
What if my baby has reflux, eczema, was premature, or has a diagnosis?
Tell us in the questionnaire. Those things change what a plan can responsibly say, and some of them mean your pediatrician needs to be involved before any settling work. The plan will say so clearly and stay conservative.
What is your refund policy?
If you have not yet submitted the questionnaire, email us within 14 days for a full refund of the plan. Once a plan has been written for you it cannot be refunded, but if it misses the mark we will revise it. The coach subscription can be cancelled at any time and is not refunded for partial months.
